Sustainable Transformations for the New Year

It’s one thing to state a 'resolution' but another to make it happen. Look at the new year as an opportunity to get a new start on satisfying one of your personal wishes. 

Using Mindfulness techniques on a regular basis helps keep you present in the moment, focused and aligned with your goals. Yoga, meditation, breathwork, quietude, and even napping are ALL mindfulness techniques!

 If you are new to mindfulness techniques, start slowly with short 2-5 minute practices, exploring different formats. Even a minute or two of focused breathing or listening to soothing music can make a world of difference!

 NUTRITION: Clean up your Act! 

The Holidays are filled with sweets and treats and overeating even healthy foods. At the start of the year it’s a great time to get back to the basics and focus on Fiber!

 Recommended Intake of Fiber – 25-35 grams/day

 Some great high fiber options:

  • Kashi Go Lean Crunch Cereal - 1 cup 8 grams fiber
  • Raspberries - 1 cup 9 grams fiber
  • Beans – ½ cup cooked black beans 8 grams fiber
  • Whole Wheat Pasta – 1 cup 6 grams fiber
  • Lima beans or peas – ½ cup 5 grams fiber
