Julie Bindeman, PsyD

Julie Bindeman, PsyD

Dr. Julie Bindeman, a native to the DC area and a 6th generation Washingtonian, received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the George Washington University. Her dissertation was on adolescents and the identity transition to adulthood.

Since graduate school, Dr. Bindeman has been interested in how identity is formed and incorporated across the lifespan. She founded Integrative Therapy of Greater Washington (ITGW) with Nanci Brown, LCSW-C in 2007 and the practice sees people of all ages and stages.

Dr. Bindeman has served on the board of the Maryland Psychological Association since 2008 in a variety of roles. In addition to MPA, she's a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Mental Health Association, and the International Association of Yoga Therapists. She blogs for a variety of online outlets around reproductive health, an area that is near and dear to her.

Dr. Bindeman received Maryland Psychological Association's 2014 Volunteer of the Year Award and the National Council of Jewish Women awarded her their Woman Who Dared honor in 2014. Dr. Bindeman has spoken at national and international conferences, supervises doctoral students, and writes--all of which provide a nice balance to her psychotherapy practice. She lives with her husband, their three living children, a fiesty Beagle, and a cat.
