Holly is a native Michigander. She grew up in West Bloomfield, Michigan, and attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with High Distinction, majoring in Biology. She loved Ann Arbor so much, and being close to home, that she earned her M.D. degree at the University of Michigan Medical School and did a transitional medical surgical internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Not yet ready to leave the area, she completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center.

Finally ready to spread her wings and leave Michigan, Holly and her husband moved to Maryland where his two brothers lived, and joined a practice there. After eleven years at that practice, she opened her solo practice in 2006 in Frederick, Maryland, and a second office in 2012 in Rockville, Maryland. She is a comprehensive ophthalmologist, focusing on all aspects of eye care, while her surgical practice is concentrated in cataract and LASIK surgery.

In her spare time, Holly enjoys discovering new trails to hike with her German Shepherd, Wiley, reading historical fiction, traveling with her husband, daughter, and son, and cooking in or eating out with friends. She joined the boot camp a year ago when she asked her friend and gynecologist, Thu Tran, how she worked full time, cared for her family, and still had time to do triathlons and stay so fit! Thu invited her to boot camp, and she has been hooked ever since. In addition to adding certain phrases to her everyday repertoire, including Sheri’s “AND, REST!” and Troy’s “no mush tush”, she has gotten to know a wonderful group of professional women who inspire her, amaze her, and make her laugh.
