Anjali Gupta, M.D., received her B.S. and M.D. from Northwestern University. Dr. Gupta completed her residency in Psychiatry at the University of Maryland Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Dr. George U. Balis Award for Excellence in Medical Student Education. As faculty at the University of Maryland, she served as the VA Inpatient Medical Director, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist for the Cancer Center, and as the Associate Residency Training Director for the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Training Program. Currently she is Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at Georgetown University where she teaches in the School of Medicine and the Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation on a variety of topics including wellness, the physician-patient relationship, and culture and medicine. She currently serves on the Children’s National Medical Center Community Health Advisory Board and was Vice-Chair of Children’s National BOV’s Grants Committee. She is also on The Potomac School Mental Health & Wellness Task Force and is writing PBL cases for a wellness curriculum. During Covid, she built www.wellnessduringcovid-19.com to assist the community with resources. Dr. Gupta enjoys reading, travel, writing, cooking, photography, yoga, and Transcendental Meditation.
